Children's Apron

One of my best friends in all the world inherited recently from her mother two aprons that were made for her mother by her grandmother. That's 6 generations ago in case I've confused you!! In any case, she decided that she wanted to give them back to her mother for Christmas this year, so she had them displayed in the most beautiful shadow box. They were already wrapped and ready to give for Christmas and I begged her to unwrap it and allow me to photograph them for you. We just don't do work like this much anymore...especially for a child who may not appreciate or value the time and effort that goes into such beautiful handwork. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

  1. My... oh my... those little aprons are PRICELESS! What a clever friend you have to think of framing them and giving them back. I can only imagine what her mother will feel as she opens this very special Christmas gift. Thanks for sharing ~ Seeing them brought back childhood memories.

  2. Thanks for the e-mail heads up... you are right, those are the most precious aprons ever! The framed art will become a priceless possesion for generations to come. Are they typing the story and placing it on the back?

  3. My Great Grandmother made me little aprons every year for Christmas. I so wish I had some of them. They were burned in a house fire although some items were saved. I plan to make some aprons for the little girls in my family and hope they will one day appreciate them. I'm doing it in honor of "Big Grandma"

  4. They are lovely. What a great gift. You're so right. We (well I'm speaking about me not Lori Holt) don't really do enough of this anymore.
